SPIRITUAL and ENERGY HEALING

Spiritual and Energy healing is a general term for therapeutic modalities that heal on the physical, mental and emotional levels without requiring the client to take any medicines or remedies. The healing is purely effected through the use of Energy, Chi, Prana, or Light.

Spiritual Healing invokes a power that is intangible. This universal energy is both subtle and powerful, is the essence of all created and living things and is often described as Light, Life Force or the Vital Force.

Many Spiritual Healers act as conduits or channels for this healing energy and once they have tuned in to their client and understand what needs to be healed, the practitioner can then direct it in such a way that it brings about benefit and relief for the client.

Spiritual healing is a natural, noninvasive approach to releasing stress and pain that affect the mind, body, emotions and spirit.

Anyone, regardless of age, can benefit from it and restore their state of balance and wellbeing.

History of Spiritual and Energy Healing

Spiritual and Energy healing has roots in most ancient traditions and cultures.

Examples of this are ancient forms of medicine, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda. With the basic concept of TCM being that a vital energy force, known as “Qi,” surges throughout the body. When there is an imbalance of qi, disease and illness may result.

Similarly with Ayurveda, which originated in India more than 3,000 years ago, it follows a system of medicine based on the principle that disease is caused by an imbalance or stress in a person’s consciousness. The vital energy concept in ayurveda is called “prana” and has similarities to qi in TCM.

Spiritual healing is not linked to a particular religion and the word ‘spiritual’ originates from the Latin word ‘spiritus’ meaning ‘breath of life’.

The spiritual aspect refers to spiritual energy working at a deep level on our spiritual being. The healing involves the transfer of energy; in other words, it is not from the healer him or herself, but the healer links with ‘Universal’ or Divine energy to channel healing for the mind, body and spirit.

Styles of spiritual and energy healing available:

Hawaiian (Ka Huna)

KaHuna massage is a specialised flowing style of massage, providing a holistic approach to healing by balancing the body-mind in its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

It is particularly helpful at transitional times in ones life to aid with clarity and focus.

Reiki

Rei – ki = from Japan, Rei: transcendental, universal spirit. Ki: energy, power.

Reiki is a way of channelling energy for the purpose of healing and is wonderfully nurturing to mind, body and spirit. It is a a form of healing in which the boundless energy of the universe is channelled through the practitioner into the body of the receiver so as to enhance their energy supply and promote their body’s innate capacity to heal itself.

By restoring the body’s energy levels and encouraging self-healing Reiki can restore a state of harmony and well-being, and assist in healing emotional and physical dis-ease within the body.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is the use of specific instruments and sounds to balance and heal the body, mind and spirit
